How much is your blog worth - Is the “Marketing Defined” blog worth $10,161.72 ?

How much is your Blog worth in dollars? It appears I might be able to retire a millionaire yet, well maybe in the next 5 years or so ;-) My 11 month old Marketing Defined blog is worth $10,161 and 72 cents… kaching!

My first reaction was to wake up my long suffering partner (the wee Scottish dynamo, John), and gleefully tell him ” see, it’s all been worthwhile, daahling!”

..but it’s 2.00 am Melbourne time, and John’s Business is not at home like mine (besides you know what the Scots are famous for! - You do? no, no, it’s not what’s under their kilt dear - they are fiery little buggers.. I’ve got mine kinda *mellowed* though ;-).. so that was the end of that!

And thank G, John doesn’t read my Blog, apart from the cursory glance and “that’s nice dear” he throws my way, when asked for an opinion on my latest and greatest effort at web design :-)

It appears with the process of AOL’s recent purchase of Weblogs Inc, the 2 year old Calcanis/Avery Weblogs network (for a reputed 25 - 40 million U.S. dollars) Time Warner may be providing some ideas as to the valuation of blogs by traditional media.

This post by Tristan Louis Doing the numbers on the AOL WeblogsInc deal will shed some light on the computation process.. which leans heavily towards the number of inbound links to a Blog as the major factor in valuing your “virtual real estate” or Blog.

I know you are busting to know your own worth, so here again is where you find the tool to work out How much is your blog worth … I hope you share your results with me at least?

Please try not to take any of this too seriously, as there are certainly more factors to be considered when valuing a Blog, than the total number of incoming links.

However, I haven’t been able to wipe the smile off my face, at the thought my “retirement fund” has taken on a far *rosier* (pardon the pun) outlook after the analysis at “How much is your blog worth“..
